Chicken — Now Available by Pre-Order!

You've been asking, and we've been listening. We're excited to announce that this summer, we're raising chickens on our pastures — and we'd love for you to be part of it!

Here's how it works: because we don't have the freezer space to store a flock's worth of birds, we're doing this the old-fashioned way — raising exactly what's been spoken for. That means we need your pre-order before we order the chicks, so every bird has a home before it ever sets foot on the farm.

Pre-orders must be placed by Sunday, June 7.

On Monday, June 8, we'll order the chicks based on what's been reserved. From there, it's about two months of non-GMO feed, fresh air, and green pastures before they're ready. When the time comes, you'll pick up your order at either the farm in Delton or the farm store inside Betten Integrative Medicine in Portage.

You can order a whole bird or have it cut into pieces — whichever works best for you (see options listed below).

This is our first time offering chicken for pre-sale, and honestly, it's a bit of an experiment — but one we're really excited about! If things go well, we're hoping to have two or three batches next summer so more folks can get in on it throughout the season.

Spots are limited to what we pre-sell, so if you want in, don't wait — order yours today!

How this works:

1 - Choose a whole bird or one cut into pieces. Average size is 4.5-5 pounds.

2 - If choosing a bird that's cut into pieces, choose one of the following options:

a) 2 Breasts (boneless skinless) / 2 Thighs / 2 Drumsticks / 2 Wings

b) 2 Breasts (split bone-in) / 2 Thighs / 2 Drumsticks / 2 Wings

c) 2 Chicken Halves

d) 2 Breasts (boneless skinless) / 2 Leg Quarters (drumstick & thigh connected) / 2 Wings

e) 2 Breasts (split bone-in) / 2 Leg Quarters (drumstick & thigh connected) / 2 Wings

3 - If you would like Soup Stock Bones, Feet or the Heart, Liver & Gizzard from one chicken, please add these to your cart separately.

4 - If you would like your chicken not yet frozen, we'll ask about this when we reach out with the processing date.
